What information we collect

When you use PorchPrompt as a business owner, we collect the information you give us to set up and run your account: your name and email address (via your account sign-in), your business name, and payment information you provide when subscribing. Payment information is handled directly by Stripe — PorchPrompt never sees or stores your card number. When you add a customer to your PorchPrompt account, we collect that customer’s name, phone number, and, optionally, email address so we can send them a review request on your behalf.

How we use it

We use this information to provide the PorchPrompt service: to authenticate you, run your subscription, and — most importantly — to send an automated SMS review request to your customer after you mark a job complete. We use your business name, your Google review link, and your customer’s name and phone number only for this purpose. We do not use your customers’ information for anything beyond sending the review request(s) you configure.

SMS messaging

PorchPrompt sends automated text messages to the customers of businesses that use our service, on that business’s behalf, requesting a review of a completed job. A customer’s phone number is only used to send these messages after the business confirms, at the point the number is collected, that the customer has consented to receive them. Message frequency varies depending on how many jobs a business completes; you should not expect more than one review-request text per completed job. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of future messages, or HELP for help.

Data sharing

We share information with the service providers that make PorchPrompt work, and only as needed to provide the service:

  • Twilio — to deliver SMS review-request messages.
  • Stripe — to process subscription payments. Stripe handles all payment card information directly; we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Clerk — to authenticate business owners and manage account sign-in.
  • Neon — to store account, customer, and job data in our database.

We do not sell any information we collect.

Mobile opt-in data and phone numbers will never be sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Data retention and deletion

We retain account and customer data for as long as a PorchPrompt subscription is active, so the service can continue to function. If a business closes its account, or a customer asks to have their information removed, contact us at the address below and we will delete the relevant records — except where we’re required to keep certain records, such as payment records, for legal or accounting purposes.
