What happens to your customers' phone numbers when you use PorchPrompt

Your customers gave you their phone numbers because they trusted you. Before you put those numbers into any app, it's fair to ask what happens to them. Here's the plain answer for PorchPrompt, with no buzzwords.

PorchPrompt keeps only what it needs to send a review request: your customer's name, their phone number, and the job. We removed the customer email field entirely, so we hold less than before. Your card details go straight to Stripe on Stripe's own page and never reach PorchPrompt's servers. Our Privacy Policy lists exactly what we collect and every company that receives it.

Customers are only texted after your business confirms they agreed to receive texts, and every consent change is logged in a record that can't be edited. The text itself uses fixed wording: your business name, the customer's first name, and your review link. If a customer replies STOP, they're opted out, and that number stays opted out even if the customer is deleted and added again. We never store the text of a reply.

You control deletion yourself, right in the app. Delete a customer, and their information and jobs are removed at once and any scheduled texts are cancelled. Delete your whole account from Settings, and your billing ends under our refund rules, your sign-in is removed, and your Google connection is disconnected. No emails, no waiting on a support ticket.

Everything else is deleted on a set schedule, automatically. Archived jobs are deleted after 365 days. If you disconnect Google, your stored reviews are deleted. Accounts that go unused are deleted 90 days after the plan ends, with warning emails at 30 days and 7 days so nothing disappears by surprise.

A few records are kept longer, on purpose, and only for set periods. Texting and consent records are kept for 5 years after the last one, because they're your proof that each customer agreed to hear from you. Billing records are kept for 7 years. After those periods, they're deleted automatically too. We keep only what proves consent and billing, and nothing more.

Your account is protected as well. Every connection to PorchPrompt uses HTTPS. A sign-in from a new device needs a code emailed to you, and repeated wrong passwords lock the account. Technician links use a long secret code plus a PIN, lock after 5 wrong tries, and the PINs are stored encrypted. And our site runs no ad, analytics, or tracking scripts. Your customers trusted you with their numbers, and we built PorchPrompt to keep that trust intact.
